Picture Day is Monday, September 26th for Grade 1, Kindergarten, and our M/W/F Preschoolers! Please send the order forms in on Monday! Tue/Thur Preschoolers will have pictures taken on Tuesday, Sept. 27th.
The Rainforest is Coming!
Snakes, monkeys, kinkajous, beautiful parrots, macaws, amazons and cockatoos from around the world are all coming to Douglas!
Primary School students will enjoy a short program during the day on Wednesday, Sept. 28th. Families and friends are invited to attend an evening show at 6 pm at the Elementary School. Cost is $5 per person, children under 3 years old are admitted free. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the evening show.
Our field trip to Southwick's Zoo for Kindergarten and Grade 1 is scheduled for October 14th. All parents are welcome to chaperone but we can not accommodate any siblings that day. If you are thinking of joining us you will need a current CORI form on file. Parents need to return their chaperone form with payment of $11 by October 3rd. Thank you!
Student permission slips and a payment of $12 is due no later than October 7, 2016. Students will need to bring a bag lunch from home (no glass containers or sodas, please).

Parents are encouraged to communicate with the teachers and/or the Principal for any and all concerns and questions. Open communication between all stakeholders is the key to providing our students with the best possible learning environment. Never hesitate to call or email!
School Resource Officer Brett Fulone and Adjustment Counselor Tracy Purvis met with all students to discuss safety in school, on the playground, and on the bus.
Preschool classes enjoyed music class with Deb Hudgins Thursday morning! Thank you to our PTO for funding this program!
Friday Fun in Preschool!
Kindergarten centers included letters "s" and "d", sorting colors using chopsticks, and listening to a story!!
First graders were writing their spelling words on a paper watch so they could look at them all day! They also worked on "short a" words- cat, can, hat, as well as a "short a" vowel game!
