Douglas Primary School Week of January 22, 2018

Douglas Primary School

When the best and the brightest come

together the possibilities are endless!”

Author Kate Hanscom visited the Primary School Friday and read her latest book, Imagination to the Rescue.

About Kate:

I currently live in Central Massachusetts with my husband, Chris, and three awesome kiddos, Allison, Jane and Matthew!  I spend my days working on my latest idea, cooking for my family, editing stories, playing on the swing set, doing laundry, and having dance parties in my living room!

However, I also spend a lot of time THINKING and DREAMING!  And ironically enough, the idea for my first book came to me when I SHOULD have been dreaming at 3:00AM!  Tossing and turning in bed while pregnant with my first baby, this vision of a curly-haired little girl kept popping into my brain.  Right then and there, I decided to write down my thoughts in my spiral notebook and VOILA - Literal Lily was born!

Since then, I have enjoyed letting my creativity take the lead!  While writing books delights me to no end, I love sharing my stories and passion for reading and writing with thousands of children, even more!

I believe that each one of us has a story to tell.  If you have ever written a story, paragraph or sentence - you ARE an author!  All it takes to begin a story is an idea - and ANYONE can have a great idea!  With the support of my family and friends (thanks, guys!) I feel extremely lucky to pursue my lifelong passion of writing and empower others to do the same!
