Douglas Primary School
Week of March 9, 2015
With the start of daylight savings time, it's so nice to have it bright out later in the day! Spring is right around the corner and hopefully we will be able to get outside for some fresh air soon!
On Thursday, March 12th, Douglas Primary School students enjoyed the Officer Phil Safety Program. A presentation was held in our cafeteria which stressed positive attitudes and safety awareness. Each student received an activity booklet to take home to complete with parents. Parents may find useful activities online at www.officerphil.com.
Thank you to Douglas Police Officer Tony Yannino for arranging the program for the Douglas Primary School students!
State Representative Joe McKenna visits the Primary School!
Saturday, March 14th is Pi Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day- Tuesday, March 17th

PTO Reminder:
Scrip gift card fundraising is one of the easiest ways to support our school. How does it work? You purchase gift cards to some of the 400 retailers offered at www.shopwithscrip.com for face value. The school buys them at a slightly discounted price. The difference = money for the school. For example, you spend $200 each week shopping at Target. Instead of paying with cash, check or credit card, you purchase the gift card beforehand for $200. The school gets this same $200 gift card for $195. The school just earned $5 at no extra cost to you! The best part? You can purchase cards online and print them at home or use them on your smart phone. Here is a video to help you set up a shop with scrip account. (Use enrollment code 6FF191A615278 when doing so.)
