It's All About Reading at Douglas Primary!!!

The Massachusetts English Language Arts standards stress young children's understanding of the world of language and literature, writers and illustrators, books and libraries. The foundations of reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language development are formed during children's conversations and informal dramatics, while learning songs and poems, and from experiences with real objects, as well as while listening to and "reading" books on a variety of subjects.

Our teachers are working very hard every day to meet these standards.  We encourage parents to read with your child and practice letters, sounds, and sight words.

Thank you to Chief Foley, Chief Vinson, Officer Brett Fulone, and members of the Fire and Police Departments for assisting us with our lock down drill.  Staff and students did a great job during the drill and are aware of what to do in an emergency.
