Douglas Primary School Week of September 21, 2015

Douglas Primary School

Did you know that Sunday, Sept. 27th is a SUPER full moon?Supermoon  was first coined by an astrologer, Richard Nolle, in 1979. He defined it as ‘a new or a full Moon that occurs when the Moon is at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in its orbit’. Because it's so close to Earth, a Super Full Moon looks about 7% bigger than an average full Moon.

On the Same night:

Total Lunar Eclipse – Blood Moon

The Moon will be totally eclipsed for more than 3 hours.

Don't forget: School Pictures at the Primary School are Monday, September 28th
