Kindergarten Orientation- Class of 2028



Orientation took place on Thursday for parents and students to meet their teachers and visit their classrooms!

Grade 1
Mrs. Forest's Grade 1 class worked in cooperative groups building Yurts. The class read a nonfiction story about Yurts too!

So what is a YURT?

yurt. [yoo rt] /yʊərt/ 1. a tentlike dwelling of the Mongol and Turkic peoples of central Asia, consisting of a cylindrical wall of poles in a lattice arrangement with a conical roof of poles, both covered by felt or skins.

Mrs. Hendrick's Grade 1 class worked on the "oy" as in cowboy, Students wrote about cowboys, drew pictures of a cowboy, and dressed like a cowboy!

Kindergarten and Grade 1 Move up Day: June 24
Last Day of School: June 25th, dismissal at 11:55

The PTO is excited to add Planet Aid clothing recycling to its repertoire of rewards programs. Simply donate your unwanted items to the Planet Aid recycling shed located in the skate park parking lot across from the Middle School and the PTO receives money for each pound donated. 
Accepted items include: 
clothing (adult and children's sizes)
belts
small stuffed animals 
curtains
pocketbooks
small plastic toys
coats
bedding

With all of this spring cleaning, make sure to donate your unwanted items in the collection bin and support the Douglas schools!
