Grade 1 Polar Express
Grade 1 students enjoyed listening to the story, The Polar Express in the nicely decorated cafeteria Friday morning. Students had a ticket to turn in at the door before traveling up the ramp behind the train. Following the story, student made trains from graham crackers, marshmallows, M&M's, and whipped cream. Parent volunteers assisted with the hot chocolate treat! Students also received a bell bracelet as the first Christmas gift which went along with the boy in the story who received a bell from Santa's reindeer. Students were able to eat their creations when complete!

Douglas Primary School Week of December 8, 2014

Douglas Primary School

Week of December 8, 2014

It's been a very busy week here at the Douglas Primary School! Our wreaths are complete and hanging in the hallways ready to be delivered to the Douglas businesses. We were hoping to have a few students deliver wreaths on Main Street, but due to the weather this week, that wasn't possible. Thank you to our parents who spent the day making our wreaths look beautiful!

Reports cards were published in IPASS for the first time on Tuesday. Thank you to everyone for being patient with the online report card process.  I know you will enjoy using IPASS once we all get used to it!

We held our lock down drill on Wednesday morning and I'm happy to report that our students and teachers did an amazing job. Well Done!

Preschool Fun

Kindergarten Fun

Mrs. Jane's Kindergarten class went on a Gingerbread Hunt! Students went from room to room, following the clues left by the Gingerbread! Low and behold, the Gingerbread was found fast asleep under a blanket on Mrs. Jane's chair! The class enjoyed some gingerbread cookies afterwards!

Message for parent drop-off and parent pick-up:
For the winter months, it is highly recommended that parents park in the lot and walk your child to the sidewalk. The grass and hill areas are very slippery and will not be shoveled or plowed this winter. Only the sidewalks will be treated. Thank you!
